Wake up… it’s time to TUCK! We went back to “shake” some more with our Rise girls!  This time we took RISE Barre with Ali, which didn’t include a cardio segment like other classes we posted about.  Some of you might think this class is probably easier because there isn’t cardio. Let’s set the record straight. When there isn’t a cardio song, that means there is one extra song dedicated to thighs!  Pick your poison, ladies. Some days we welcome the cardio because our poor thighs need that break from all that shaking.

The class is set up very similarly to the RISE Cardio Barre  class. Ali had a fantastic playlist that really got us in the mood for this workout! At one point Here Comes the Hotstepper came on, and she told us “Hotstepper” was her nickname in highschool because she was so fast! We started laughing out loud, because this is simply amazing and we could picture it in our heads! You can always expect hilarious commentary coming from the instructors at Rise.  It really does make your workout that much more enjoyable because it takes your mind away from the burn.  

All throughout the class, Ali was so inspiring, encouraging, and called each of us by name when we were doing a great job or if we needed a little motivation, which is amazing because sometimes it’s hard to remember our kids’ names. Not only did she do the exercises with us, but also walked around the room to help with form. And her form is flawless!  It is a great example of what we are striving to achieve. There were a few times that she popped to the barre right next to us to make sure we were working as hard as we could. We saw a barre meme the other day about how you stop and break form when the instructor turns their back, but when they are right next to you, you work your hardest! We will admit, this is true! We never take a “break” or “break form” when the instructor is watching. Duh. That’s like your kid openly throwing their sippy cup or food on the ground, while you’re watching. Oh wait… that does happen. Every. Single. Day.

One of our blog followers, which also happens to be a cousin to one of us, came with us to class.  This is what she had to say about her experience at Rise “I have always loved workout classes, and have been a pretty athletic person my whole life. I never took a barre class before, but my cousin swears by them so I decided to give it a try!  I was intimidated at the thought of it because it was something new. Once I got to the studio, I was immediately greeted and treated as if I were the most important client there. The studio itself is totally beautiful as well! About ten minutes into the class, I was hooked! The music was perfect, the instructor was great, and I was SHAKING.  It really worked every muscle in my body. Even a few days later, I am sore, a good kind of sore. I left class having burnt a ton of calories, had a great time, and felt ready to take on the day! I can’t wait to come back and try it again!”

We definitely recommend this class for working moms.  The time of the morning is perfect. Both of us were able to escape from our houses BEFORE our kids woke up, and we were home in time to start the day with our families.  Being working moms, our time is very valuable. When we leave the house to go and workout, we try to pick the best possible class for our time. As we have said many times before, barre is an all around great workout.  It targets all areas of your body, and leaves you feeling strong and lean. It is low impact, you are able to go at your own pace, and there are modifications for each exercise. Barre is made for everyone, and Rise is the perfect place to start if you are new to barre.
