Hi! My name is Gina, and I have known Meghan for over 15 years! I am a mom of 2 little ones, Leah (6) and Nicholas (4). I am a CT scan technologist, and also a health & wellness educator. My husband and I have been married for almost 7 years and like most other families these days, we are BUSY! When we become busy it’s easy to fall into some not so great routines at times. It is easier to just stay “afloat” but we were not created for mediocrity! I have learned over the years of being a mom that I can’t pour from an empty cup. It is not physically designed that way. So I try to make it a point in my daily life to fill myself up with some stress relief and self care so I can keep up with all of my motherly and wifely duties! Feel me?!
So what does that look like for me? First of all I pray on a daily basis…more likely hourly. But when I find the time to be quiet and thank God for all my blessings I feel more gratitude towards what I have been given. Even if you can just find some time to sit and be still. Meditation and reflection is a really important part of our emotional health since our bodies are connected mind body and spirit. I don’t mean that in a voodoo juju type of way, but our minds and our physical bodies are so connected that if one is out of whack, the other will be too! So think of yourself as a whole being and treat all of it with a lot of TLC!
Second I use my Young Living essential oils… A LOT! Like I legitimately find myself pouring Stress Away and Valor essential oil blends all over my body in times of stress. Even just driving in the car to bring my kids to school can feel like a rat race. Keeping my oils on me always allows me to just literally take a big deep breath of oil and let it out slow. Did you know that it only takes 22 second for a therapeutic grade essential oil to be inhaled, reach the limbic system in your brain, and start to physically change the structure of our cells?! Crazy awesome right?! So by taking a moment to breathe in these oils is like an instant vacation, and what busy mama of littles doesn’t need one of those?!
I also make it a point to take my supplements and keep my immune system strong. I take FemiGen (Young Living) every morning which is awesome for balancing hormones and y’all know ladies, that we could use support in this area especially after pregnancy and breastfeeding! Second I take Super B’s and Super C’s. They are what they say they are, Super B’s are a blend of B vitamins and Super C’s is a chewable C vitamin. B’s are great for hair, skin, nails, and energy to name a few and C is super amazing for the immune system and absorbing some other vitamins and minerals. I also drink NingXia Red daily which is an antioxidant super drink packed with Wolfberry puree (a high quality goji berry) and essential oils. I give this drink to my kids too because it boosts our immune systems, energizes, helps clear up my skin, and so much more!
I eat a gluten, corn, food dye, and mostly dairy free diet. I have food sensitivities but have learned over the years how important diet is for our life. Limiting sugar and alcohol is crucial too! I promise I’m still a lot of fun to hang out with! You know how they say you are what you eat? Well if we are consuming crap that doesn’t “serve” our bodies then we will become gross and miserable both mind and body. Have you ever heard of the gut/brain connection? Did you know that there is more serotonin (a neurotransmitter) in the lining of our guts than there is in our brain?! ((Mic drop here)) If we have poor gut health from what we are consuming then we will surely have poor brain health, it’s a proven fact!
I encourage you truly take time to fill up your cup. If that means hiding in the bathroom with the lights off for 3 minutes to just breathe, then so be it! It will help your marriage, your kids, and yourself to be a better YOU! If you have questions or would like to chat please contact me! I also teach FREE classes and would love to meet you! Wishing you a life of wellness and peace!
