This week my family and I are on vacation in the most magical place on earth… Disney World! Now, while this vacation is fabulous, why do I still feel guilty about dropping my workout routine? Normally on vacations, I still keep up with at least half of my routine, but a Disney vacation is very different in that I just don’t have time (I might need a vacation from this vacation). Let me tell you how a normal day goes for us: we are all up at 6:00 AM to get ready for the day, we get on the bus at 7:00 AM (or walk to the park), we stay the day at the park until about 5:00 PM, then back to the hotel, get ready for dinner, and dinner at 7:00 PM. After dinner we sometimes walk around, sometimes head back, and straight to bed to do it all over the next day. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Disney, but it can be super exhausting! Add in that we have a two year old to chase after because for whatever reason, she hates the stroller we rented for her. She doesn’t realize how lucky she is to have someone push her around all day. I’d kill for that! I will say that one perk to all of this craziness is all of the walking we do. I have averaged about 15,000 steps per day… that’s pretty insane if you ask me!
I do feel really guilty for letting myself go on vacation, but I try to tell myself to enjoy it because I am fortunate to experience this vacation with my family. My daughter will only be two years old once, and to see Disney through her eyes is priceless. Every parade, show, and ride brings tears to my eyes just seeing how ecstatic she is about everything. Once I am back from vacation, I will kick my butt into high gear and start up my crazy routine again. Until then, I have the Avatar Flight of Passage waiting for me!
