Location: Gwynedd, PA
Instructor: Aaron – What a great coach! We got there early because it was our first time at OTF Gwynedd, and Aaron gave us one-on-one time before class started (see below). During class, we felt like he was everywhere, which was great when we had questions. He was really on top of all of the clients too, by monitoring their heart rate, as well as their form. He probably asked everyone in the class how they were feeling at least 5 times. It was a great feeling to know he had our backs.
Exercise Type: 3G – this was a different type of class from our previous OTF experience (Read previous post here). In the 3G workout there are three stations – 1) Rowing, 2) Floor (strength training), and 3) Treadmill. The 3G class also moves at a much faster pace then the previous class we took. All three of us (that’s right, we had a badass mom join us!) started at the rowing machine. We were told to hit a certain number of meters, and then we got up, grabbed a medicine ball (approx. 10-12 lbs.) and did 10 squats. We then proceeded back to the rower, and so on and so forth. After the rowing station, we moved to the floor, where we did a variety of strength training exercises – See 3 clips, HERE, HERE, and HERE, for a sample. After the floor station we moved to the treadmills. On each treadmill, there is a sign (see below) where it tells you at what pace you should be walking/jogging/running based on your ability. We started out at a “Base” pace, and then Aaron would have us do an “All Out” pace for 30 seconds. We would then take a break (probably anywhere between 30 – 45 seconds) and then do the “All Out” pace again. Let us assure you that even though this sounds SUPER hard and intimidating, you can do anything for 30 seconds! After about the 10th round, yes, we were tired, BUT it was still only 30 seconds of an “All Out” sprint.

Cleanliness: Yes! Aaron handed us wipes after each station to wipe down our equipment.
Unique Features: Orangetheory is unlike any workout we have done. In our first post on OTF (Here) we explained all about the heart monitors, so we won’t get back into that, but that is a unique feature! 3G was different for us too, but we liked how it kept us on our toes. It didn’t allow us to get bored by being at a station for too long. We also loved the atmosphere! The music was bumpin’, Aaron was yelling (nicely) over the microphone to keep pushing us, and everyone genuinely looked like they were having a good time!
Thank you SO much for having us! After our second experience at OTF, we can proudly say that we LOVE it! After this class, we felt like supermoms, and ready to take on the day! We’d also like to thank Kelly for suggesting OTF and for joining us… You rocked it! Come back with us anytime!
