Location: Marmora, NJ – located right outside of Ocean City, NJ, so when you are down the shore this summer, make sure you stop by and check out her classes. You won’t be disappointed, AND it will give you some “me time” and get you away from the kids for an hour 🙂
Instructor: Connie – She was amazing! Connie did each and every exercise with us, and came around the room to help us when needed. I could tell she really had a passion for exercise by how she instructed the class.
Exercise Type: Booty Barre – Let’s just say the class lived up to its name… My booty hurt for days! Class started out with an exercise that I was semi-familiar with, but did not expect in a barre class. It was a Pound exercise (see posts here and here for a description of this type of exercise class). WOW! I was so excited to see those ripstix back in my life. I was pounding away to the beat of the music, and only lost the beat a few times… improvement!
We moved onto some arm exercises with light weights, attacked all areas of our legs, our glutes and booty, and finished the exercise component with an amazing core workout. Next, we did planks, push-ups, crunches, and bicycles, to name a few. Class ended with a foam roller that we used for some stretching.
Day of the Week: Saturday
Time: 8:00 – 9:00 AM – perfect time for me because I didn’t lose much time with my family, since both my husband and daughter slept until 8:30 *insert eyeroll*
Price: Drop-in $20; packages available
What to Wear: Tank top/T-shirt; Leggings; bare feet
What to Bring: Water, towel (optional)
What is Provided: Everything else! Balls, Mats, etc.
Level of Experience: All levels seen – class was on the smaller side, which gave it such an intimate feel. Connie was really able to give us individual attention.

Welcoming: Yes! Connie immediately introduced herself, showed me around, told me about the class, and introduced me to other members in the class.
Cleanliness: Extremely! After class everyone was prompted to wipe down all equipment they touched.
Unique Features: The pound exercise was the most unique part of the class (described above). I was so shocked to find this in a barre class, and SO happy to have gotten another chance at it. I love that Connie put a spin on the traditional barre class. It kept me on my toes (pun intended).
