My visit to Stone Harbor’s Bootcamp.
Name: 7 Mile Fitness
Location: Stone Harbor, NJ
Instructor: Various (See “Exercise Type”)
Exercise Type: Bootcamp – There were 40 stations set up all along the recreation center. A few examples were: jumping jacks, squats, weighted ball throws, bicep curls, burpees, planks, and lunges. When I first heard “40 stations” I figured there had to be repeats… I was amazed that they were all different!
There were 10 people per station, and we rotated every 45 seconds (and had 25 seconds in between) until we finished all 40 stations. Several coaches scattered throughout the bootcamp to assist if/when needed, but it was helpful to just watch the group in front of us to prepare us for the next one. Each station also had a sign with the station number and the exercise.
Place: Stone Harbor Recreation Center
Day of the Week: Friday
Time: 8:00am – 9:00 am – perfect time of day for moms! I arrived back home in time to get ready for the amazing beach day with my family.

Welcoming: Yes! As much as they could have been with accommodating 400 people. There was a sign-in booth when I entered, and the people at the table explained to me where I should go, and the logistics. I thought maybe the sheer amount of people would be overwhelming, but it wasn’t. There were so many different levels of fitness in the participants, that no one stuck out.
Cleanliness: Not really applicable since the event was held outside. The grounds were beautiful, if that counts, and it was across the street from the beach!
Unique Features: Yes! There were over 400 people at this bootcamp. This is the biggest group fitness event I have ever been to, the energy alone was contagious. You couldn’t be unhappy here. There was a DJ playing loud, motivating music, which kept everyone feeling energized. This bootcamp was also the summer kick-off party. After the hour workout, we were able to enjoy the music, shop Lululemon (Avalon), and enjoy some samples from Playa Bowls.
Thank you so much for having me, and thank you to Leslie, who suggested this bootcamp and sweated right along side of me!

This is awesome. Whenever I go on vacation I always tell myself I will workout and then don’t. At least signing up for a boot camp will get my butt in gear!
