Instructor: Dan – He was fantastic! Dan was constantly walking around the room, demonstrating, and offering modifications those of us that needed it. He was also very encouraging and let us know when we were doing a good job.
Exercise Type: MATRX – no, not like the movie, even though that’s the first thing we thought… Kenau, anyone?!
I was watching a rerun of a Big Bang Theory episode the other day on TV when Penny and Sheldon were at the grocery store. Penny talks about picking up vitamins and Sheldon, in only the way Sheldon can, let’s Penny know that even though she purchased vitamins, she really purchased very expensive urine, since her body could only absorb a small amount of nutrients in the vitamins she was taking. That got me thinking, are vitamins a waste of money?
So… are vitamins a waste of your hard-earned money?
Admit it, motivating yourself to get up early and go to the gym or spin class is a lot easier when you feel good in your exercise clothes. Once you’ve put in the work you’ll feel great, but we all know that getting there is half the battle.
To give you a little extra motivation, I’ve put together 6 stylish athletic outfits to take you to the gym and beyond. (The best part? You can also wear them to run errands in and you’ll still look perfectly put together).
Why do you work out? Do you do it to stay in shape? To lose weight? To help your mental health? Maybe all of the above? This week’s Friday Fitness Tip is going to focus on your mental health – “Don’t Pay Attention To Your Thoughts” (when exercising, or when your toddler is throwing a tantrum).
Having a picky-eater toddler can be so rough! I know most of them go through this stage, but it is driving me crazy. I feel like she is eating like crap because all she wants to eat are potato chips. I was on the hunt for toddler-approved snacks, and it feels like I hit a goldmine. These Frozen Greek Yogurt Melts had her coming back and asking for more. I can’t even begin to tell you how easy they were to make either. It took about 3 minutes to prepare, and all I had to do was pop them in the freezer for an hour. If you have a picky eater like I do, this might be your saving grace!
Barre. What can we say about barre that we haven’t already said?
Probably nothing. You all know that barre is one of our favorite workouts. It is one that keeps us strong, toned, and lean. Every class is just as challenging, even though we have been taking barre for over 4 years now.
One of the most important pieces to wear to a barre class are sticky socks (barre socks).
Fashionable, comfortable, and functional activewear? Sign us up! We recently teamed up with Harper and Sky to bring to you some of their awesome activewear pieces. These mommas are fitness fanatics, and this brand is top notch! Not only did we look fantastic, the clothes were also practical.
Instructor: Kelly – she was great! She told us where to position ourselves at the start of class to make sure we could see her. She walked us through the various punches and kicks before class started, and showed us the proper way to execute so we didn’t hurt ourselves.
Exercise Type: Kickboxing – we want to start by saying, holy hell this is a FANTASTIC way to get out some frustration! Being a working mom, a stay-at-home mom, or hell… a person, there are a ton of stressors that take over our lives from time to time. In any case, take this class to release all of that bad energy. There is nothing more satisfying than using all of your energy to punch and kick this huge bag!
It’s no secret that sedentary lifestyles are unhealthy. Get up! Walk more! Take the steps! Park farther away! It all seems so easy before actually having to do it, right? Walking is so beneficial, and we want you all to be healthy! We came up with 5 ways to help encourage you to walk more.
We cannot describe to you how much we took advantage of working out 10 years ago. Back then it wasn’t just a workout, it was also a social outing, a potential place to find boys, and a way to pass time. Talk about being naïve.
Here are five things about working out that we wish we would have know 10 years ago.
